Infographic: How Visual Content Drives Social Media Growth
I’ve had a lifelong love affair with the written word. Ever since I was old enough to hold a crayon (purple, please), the process of putting together beautiful words to convey ideas has been a tremendous source of joy and success.
And while I won’t say that times have changed that much — yes, people do still read — we would be poor content marketers indeed if we neglected the power of visuals.
So, why visuals, and why now? I think one of the main reasons is that we are simply inundated with the written word. Try this: For the rest of the day, make note of every time you’re called upon to read something: emails, text messages, social media updates, memos, brochures, the list goes on and on. See what I mean?
Yes, we do need a break from all those squiggly lines. But there are other forces at work as well, and that’s why visuals are the savvy content marketer’s weapon of choice in building a strong social presence.
To find out why infographics, videos, photos and other visual content is taking over the social Web — and how they’re impacting audiences — check out this infographic from our friends at Dot Com Infoway (DCI):
