Audio-blogging’s a Cinch
If you’ve shied away from using audio on your blog because it’s just too complicated, then it’s time you discovered Cinchcast:
Clients often ask, “How can I keep people engaged on my blog?” One thing I advise them to do is mix things up once in a while by using audio or video.
Today I’m doing just that using a free online service called Cinchcast, which lets you record a short audio clip and post it on Facebook, Twitter, your blog, or anywhere you want.
I love Cinchcast because it’s a free service that’s really easy to use—there’s no software to install and no complicated controls to mess with. You just create an account, log on, and click the red “record” button on the screen, then record away. And yes, you can play back rerecord as many times as you want.
And there’s even an app for that—you can install the Cinch app on your iPhone and record your Cinchcast from absolutely anywhere. For example, a couple of weeks ago the Consumer Electronics Show took place in Las Vegas, and a lot of bloggers reported live and even conducted on-the-spot interviews using their iPhones with the Cinch app.
One last word of advice: anytime you do use audio or video for a blog post, make sure you include some text in the form of notes or a transcript, because of course, that’s what search engines look for and it’ll help your SEO.
So click on over to cinchcast.com and give it a try, then post in the comments and let us know how it turned out. Have fun!
