In 2010, social media superblog Mashable announced the first annual Social Media Day, “a day to celebrate the revolution of media becoming social.” The event was such a huge success—spawning 600 Meetups in 93 countries with nearly 12,000 attendees and over 30,000 tweets—that it’s making a comeback in 2011.
