5 Ways B2B Brands Can Rock Pinterest
“Pinterest? Yeah, that’s the chick site with all the decorating ideas, right?”
Well, yes and no. Emphasis on the “and no.”
Here’s the deal: Pinterest has gotten to the point where it’s tough for any marketer to ignore, and that includes not only manly-man businesses like Harley Davidson, but also B2B brands.
Wait a sec—B2B as in “business to business?” Yep, even if your target market is the most businesslike of businesses, you can totally engage them on Pinterest.
Here are five ideas to get you started:
1. Pin Your Videos
So, you’ve gotten the memo that online video is the shizzle for B2B marketing, right? Well, Pinterest offers another venue to show that video content off and build a library where new fans can get to know your biz a little better.
2. “JPEG” Those Testimonials
I love how inbound marketer extraordinaire HubSpot has created an “I HubSpot Because” board featuring simple images compiling customer photos and testimonials. Not only is it a great idea; it’s something you can easily do using PowerPoint or Word in just a few minutes.
3. Turn PDFs Into Images
Flyers, fact sheets, FAQ handouts—if it’s a one-page PDF, you can easily turn it into an image and post it on Pinterest. If you’re on a Mac, just pull up your PDF in Preview and Click on File > Export, then select JPEG under Format. Voilà: a totally pinnable image.
(I’m sure there’s a Windows method that’s just as easy; if any of my PC pals want to chime in, please feel free to leave your words of wisdom in the Comments.)
4. Pin Your Charts and PowerPoint Slides
You know that one chart or slide that, whenever it comes up in your presentation, prompts the question “Can I get a copy of that?” from the audience? Share it with the world by posting it on your Pinterest board.
5. Repin Relevant Stuff
We all know the dangers of only posting your own stuff on any social network, don’t we? Pinterest is no different, so start following complementary businesses and repinning the pins that speak to your audience’s (p)interests.
