After nearly 20 years in the corporate and ad agency worlds as a copywriter and brand strategist, veteran marketer Rachel Parker set out in 2010 to help businesses succeed by growing their relationships online. “I chose the name Resonance very carefully,” she recalls. “The idea behind it is, if you want to go out there and just make noise, you don’t need us … but if you want to find that sweet spot where what you have to say resonates with what your audience is listening for, that’s where we can make a difference.”
Originally founded as Resonance Social Media, the company shifted its focus in 2012 to content marketing. “I loved social media — still do!” says Parker, “but as a writer by trade and by passion, I saw a greater opportunity to deliver value. Social media is just one piece in a larger puzzle that incorporates email content, blogging, videos, podcasting, ebooks, white papers — in other words, content marketing — and we can help with all that. It was the perfect shift for us at the perfect time.”
Today Resonance Content Marketing serves businesses representing a wide range of industries, helping them connect with their target markets by designing and implementing solid content marketing strategies.
A self-described geek who can recite entire episodes of “South Park” by heart, Rachel Parker has had a passion for content ever since she was old enough to hold a crayon (purple, please).
Throughout her 20-year marketing career — five of those at one of Houston’s largest advertising agencies — Parker has helped brands such as Reliant Energy, Hewlett Packard, AIG American General, and SYSCO Foodservice to connect with their customers. Over the years, she’s developed a distinct talent for being able to communicate in the voice of the client, often eliciting the comment “You get us, Rachel. You just get us.”
Parker is also a classically trained soprano (though these days she has little time for singing), an avid gym rat (boxing, anyone?), the happy wife of a software architect/fellow geek, and the proud mama of three rambunctious dogs (Sophie the Pug and beagles Hermione and Cooter). This year, she’s set her sights on completing a second triathlon … and maybe taking a vacation.
